Today comes word that Winona has signed on to the new Star Trek movie as Spock’s Vulcan mom.
Forget that Spock’s mom wasn’t Vulcan and just go with me here.
Now I know what you’re thinking: Winona has always seemed like a space alien anyway, so what’s the harm of type-casting? Winona, who has been attached to more musicians than an amp, reportedly shoplifted something casual for her audition for Trek movie auteur J.J. Abrams.
“I was about to sleep with a new corridor at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when I got the call from J.J.,” said Winona.
Mysteriously, Winona is 36 and the Heroes actor playing Spock is 30. It’s not the mother/son age difference which is so mysterious but the fact that Winona has been acting for a hundred years and is still only 36 that boggles the mind!
